Built in 1908, the building was originally home to Wertheim Pianos, before being bought by Heinz and then reinvented as Nine Network studios.

It is the connection to the entertainment industry that inspired the name Ardency Kennedy Place - a nod to 'The King' of Australian television, Graham Kennedy.
